Our Acceleration Program

"The Fields"
Our Acceleration Program "The Fields"  is open to start-ups from our Incubation Program "The Greenhouse" as well as to start-ups with a minimum team of 2 people and an established business. Like in our Incubation Program, a difference in international culture and background and diversity in men and women is a big plus.
During the 3 months acceleration time several workshops will be organized weekly. External experts will give these workshops. For the start-ups there are some mandatory program items to attend, as well as some tailor-made items.
Twice during the 3 months period mentors will come and help the start-ups with all their questions. They will come from a different background and expertise and often have been through the same process of starting a company. So hands-on experience will be shared.

Our Acceleration Program is focussing on the following topics:
  • Smart City Mobility
  • Urban Farming

Smart City Mobility

IoT for Future Success of Smart Cities and their Mobility Challenges

As the connected devices - from smartphones, wearable fitness devices, and personal virtual assistants, to connected cars, connected homes, GPS locators, and a wide variety of sensors - will grow exponentially from 15 million in 2015 to 200 billion in 2020, we may conclude that we are increasingly relying on the Internet of Things (IoT).

Internet of Things (IoT) is the core focus area of the B-Sprouts Acceleration Program in terms of technology. Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are very closely related. As we are entering a fully connected world, IoT is its backbone and great innovations are being worked on in garages all around the world. IoT and Big Data will set new standards in the era of Smart Cities.

“Smart Mobility” refers to the solutions that make the transportation of goods and people more efficient, safe, sustainable and cost effective by using communications and digital technologies. These solutions are known as Internet of Moving Things.
This is where B-Sprouts is calling on all entrepreneurs globally that have ideas and/or developed first products to
apply for our Smart City Mobility program to accelerate and help improve and change the cities around the world.

Urban Farming

IoT, Big Data and Urban Farming

Due to a growing world population and a rapid urbanization - 66% of world’s population will be in cities by 2050 – land will be pushed to the limits of its productive capacity
On an average, food travels approx. 1500 miles from farm to plate (major cities)

The Internet of Things (IoT) will not only make Urban Farming more efficient, but will democratize the process, turning even a small amount of extra space into a low-maintenance garden capable of growing fresh food.

For urban governments and commercial growers like retailers and restaurants, Urban Farming means:
  • Local food, low food miles and low wastage
  • Economic advantages
  • Access to healthy food, esp for low-income neighborhoods
  • Food security
  • Vertical farming
  • Farming in the dark

Do you have a great idea and/product you would like to build, test, validate and accelerate, apply for our Urban Farming project now!
